Featherweight

Some clothes are the sartorial equivalent to a big hug. I bought this jumper a few sizes too big on purpose, to get that slouchy, boyfriend fit and always come back to it when  I need a bit of a cuddle (and the Boy's not around). It was a stormy afternoon, so just gazed out the window watching the rain, and needed just something simple against my skin. What are your comfort garments?

City Girl

Half the reason I'm glued to this season of The City is due to this woman- Olivia Palermo. Her personality leaves a lot to be desired, but like Blair Waldorf, her on-screen presence makes us all love to hate her. She has great style and looks impeccable on every episode. Also, this true-life 'social' shows her love for fashion by name-checking Topshop when asked about an accessory-Brilliant!Gotta love her!what do you guys think?

Denim Versatility

I recently read on Garance Dore's blog about the ubiquitous denim shorts. She was saying that they seem to be EVERYWHERE this summer, and I couldn't agree more! All you have to do is scroll back through my recent posts to see that my levi's shorts are pretty much a part of every ensemble. I seem to be surgically attached to them! lol! What about you guys? Do you share my obsession or should I hang the shorts up for good? I also did a bit of experimenting with photography and backgrounds (I'm in the bathroom :)). Let me know what you guys think!

Paradise

I'm ba-ack! The wedding went off beautifully and I'm now happy,relaxed and tan and bursting with ideas! Had an awesome time, with very little fashion pics- mostly relaxing with friends and family. Hope you guys have been enjoying your summer!

Do I need more stuff?

Ugh! I hate packing! I always feel like I'm leaving something, so I cram more stuff in and then worry about weight allowances and then take stuff out again- it's a nightmare! I wish I was one of those women who could master the 'capsule' wardrobe and only bring a few pieces which mysteriously work together. Sadly, I like to have options and dress according to my mood rather than by any preordained rules. Anyways, I've taken pics for posterity and to show you guys which pieces made the cut- some you'll recognise and others you'll see in future posts! Anyways, until next time!

Yesterday I came through to London to see one of my best friends from Uni. As with all great friends, the chemistry was still there and it felt like no time had passed (although it's been 5 years). We did a few touristy things, but mainly just hung out and had an amazing day.I meant to wear a hat, but it was too frickin windy, so I had no desire to spend my day chasing my hat into traffic! The outfit above also took me from sight-seeing, to dinner to the bar, so top marks for versatlity! I'm away on holiday tomorrow and will try my best to blog whilst there! Hopefully, it will be successful, but otherwise see you in 2 weeks!

Faded

I chose a really simple outfit today, for just lounging around. The whole thing is so worn in and super comfy and most of the pieces I've had for years. I love anything drapey which can hide a multitude of sins.All the pics I took kept coming out faded, as if they've been lightly bleached. At first I tried to change it by fiddling with the exposure, but then I realised I kinda liked it. :)
