Friday Nostalgia

Did any of you guys read the Clueless books? I know the movie was phenomenal and spawned a whole generation of fashion ladies (As if!), but the books were real gems. Full of fashion and hilarious, they were perfect for anyone with a sartorial interest. I loved the descriptions of the outfits and how cute they all were. Anyways, hope you guys have a great weekend!

Please, please,please...someone do a knockoff!

I came across these boots on Asos.com and am a little in love with them.Yes, I'm a sucker for studs and would probably stud my underwear(okay, not really) if allowed to! They are out of my price range(these are 250 pounds), as it is so close to Christmas and the end of the month, so I'm begging the high street to do a cheaper version..preferably Office. What do you guys think?

Winter Clogs

I was talking to a friend today and she asked me how come I haven't done any winter posts......I hadn't really realised it, but it is pretty much full on winter now in the UK. I've already dusted off my coat and got my woollies
out,but of course, have to think about what direction to go in wardrobe-wise. Am I the only one who just can't compute winter after seeing SS11 strut down the runway? Anyways, have decided that I'll hang on to my clogs and wear maxi skirts with my shearling boots. Just wore this today (okay, it isn't cold enough to need thick tights...yet) and loved the nubbiness of the sweater. What style are you guys rocking this winter?

Oh Alexa!

photos by Fashion Gone Rogue

I only just bought this month's Elle (like 2 weeks late, but hey, it was the last copy hidden behind Good Housekeeping) and love the Alexa Chung cover and spread. I've never been a huge fan of her style, but after reading the article and seeing how down to earth she is (She has a bag named after her and is still self-deprecating). I also love the true Britishness of her style- mussed-up hair, kohl, simple pieces thrown together. which makes her reminiscent of Kate Moss. Anywho, are you guys loving Alexa?

Midi/Maxi

I must admit that my heart sank just a little when I saw the skirt lengths for AW10.....the Midi! How will short people like myself cope? The skirt went against all my sensibilities- I like to get my legs out (btw was ecstatic when OTK boots were huge last winter) and seemed determined to make me look like Thumbelina's shorter sister. Anywho, I took the plunge and bought this one from Asos...and was pleasantly surprised. It went with more things in my wardrobe than I initially thought, it's quite flattering due to the nipped in waist and it looked like NOTHING I'd already owned- always a bonus! Here are my rules/guidelines to rocking your midi:
1) Unless you're over 5'7, don't even think about leaving the house without wearing heels
2) Define the waist- I was quite lucky that this skirt was naturally quite highwaisted, although I'm not sure if I can eat in this
3) Don't go for the obvious choices- yes I chose a blouse with this, but the skirt looked equally chic with a tank top or cropped sweater
4) Don't expect straight men to like it...at first. The hourglass shape will win them back onside!

Nude

I'm sooo excited today! My new Urban Decay Naked Palette arrived and I swear, I was instantly transported back to when I used to play with my mum's makeup. I'm really impressed with the quality and the value for money. This is also the first nude palette NOT to make me look dead or washed out and the glitter factor is to a minimum. Have you guys tried it yet?

Absolutely HAD to share this!

These two photos are from JakandJil blog featuring the amazing Anna Dello Russo displaying (yet again) her love for fashion! She's SUCH an inspiration.

Make Up

Decided to do a slightly different kind of post today exploring my make-up obsessed side! I'm a true makeup junkie but weirdly don't wear that much from day to day; however I've got some go-to products that I keep returning to year after year:

From left to right:
1) Guerlain terracotta bronzer in Indian bronze: lovely shimmer(no glitter present and brilliant when applied to the apples of the cheeks)
2) Armani Fluid Sheer: perfect way to get a glow in seconds.A must have for night outs.
3)Clinique lash power mascara long wear formula: nothing takes this off! amazing for everyday
4)Mac translucent powder: this is the first powder I've tried which doesn't look like stage makeup- gives a slightly glowing finish as well!
5)YSL Africa eye palette: what I'm wearing in the photo: great dense pigments
6)Nars blush in Orgasm: seriously suits everyone with a slight shimmer which isn't too much for everyday use!

I'm still learning how to apply makeup and would love to know what products you guys swear by! Thoughts?
