Hi Everyone! Just wanted to say as special Thank You for all the comments and support this year! I've only been blogging for a little while and can't wait to keep trying new things and experimenting with new techniques (will this be the year of the SLR camera lol?). Anyways, hope you guys are having a fun and safe holiday!

Further to my previous post about loving a winter maxi, I found this dress by Kate Moss for Topshop and fell in love with it- the jersey material makes it super comfy and it's so easy to layer! I refuse to give up on my clogs (first seen herel) and have just paired them with socks! I also refuse to shoot outside- it's far too cold, so lots of couch shoots on the way!

Hiya everyone! I'm so sorry that the posts have been sporadic at best! I've recently moved and I cannot find ANYTHING! :S .Anyways, I hope you guys have been okay and keeping warm. I've literally been working, buying xmas presents, working, trying to find stuff and working! I've got a couple of new ideas for the blog, including doing a bit more posts about beauty, product reviews as well as outfit posts. Please let me know what you think! I appreciate all your comments and visit your blogs as well! Sorry about the crap photography! I can't find my tripod lol!

I've only just emerged from under my duvet! It's so cold in the UK and set to get even colder....:(. If there's one thing about winter that I do like, it's the warm snuggly Fair Isle print- doesn't it just conjure up images of skiing and hot chocolate? I saw this jumper on Asos and suspect it has to be added to the winter arsenal! What can't you guys live without this xmas?
ps: I cannot recommend 'The Beautiful Fall' enough!

I've been making my way through the must- have fashion books (see the fashion spot) to try to expand my knowledge of the business (you don't know where you're going until you know where you've been etc) and these are the newest additions. I've read Delux: how luxury lost it's lustre and thought it was quite explosive in revealing the true ruthlessness of the industry and am now starting The Beautiful Fall. I love books about fashion from which I can gain inspiration. The Sartorialist is next on my list.

I totally forgot to post my new additions...the studded belt and cross ring! I LOVE anything studded and slightly goth; it adds a great spin to a otherwise blah outfit and stops dresses from looking too girly. The bag and the other rings you've seen before, but I was rummaging through Urban Outfitters in Oxford Circus and came across these gems. I also did a bit of a natural look with winged eyeliner for a roast dinner in the pub! What do you guys think?

I was recently asked by a friend about my early inspirations and references, which got me thinking about what got me into fashion in the first place. Since I grew up in Jamaica in the 80's, I had to get my influences from the media. MTV's House of Style hosted by Cindy Crawford back in the early 90's, is what first switched me on. I loved the designers and model profiles and I knew deep down that I wanted a career in that world. On a similar note, whatever happened to Todd Oldham, the original DIY designer on telly? What were your early influences?

I've got to admit that I was rather excited when I heard that Kate's collection was finally dropping into Topshop. I remember when the first collection came and we all queued for hours to get our hands on the much-hyped collaboration. Anywho, I checked out the new stuff and whilst the things are nice, why the F are they so expensive? I really really resent having to pay four hundred pounds for a piece. Surely I'd spend that money on actual couture, not on something that is highstreet. Are you guys shelling out?

Did any of you guys read the Clueless books? I know the movie was phenomenal and spawned a whole generation of fashion ladies (As if!), but the books were real gems. Full of fashion and hilarious, they were perfect for anyone with a sartorial interest. I loved the descriptions of the outfits and how cute they all were. Anyways, hope you guys have a great weekend!

I came across these boots on Asos.com and am a little in love with them.Yes, I'm a sucker for studs and would probably stud my underwear(okay, not really) if allowed to! They are out of my price range(these are 250 pounds), as it is so close to Christmas and the end of the month, so I'm begging the high street to do a cheaper version..preferably Office. What do you guys think?

I was talking to a friend today and she asked me how come I haven't done any winter posts......I hadn't really realised it, but it is pretty much full on winter now in the UK. I've already dusted off my coat and got my woollies
out,but of course, have to think about what direction to go in wardrobe-wise. Am I the only one who just can't compute winter after seeing SS11 strut down the runway? Anyways, have decided that I'll hang on to my clogs and wear maxi skirts with my shearling boots. Just wore this today (okay, it isn't cold enough to need thick tights...yet) and loved the nubbiness of the sweater. What style are you guys rocking this winter?

I only just bought this month's Elle (like 2 weeks late, but hey, it was the last copy hidden behind Good Housekeeping) and love the Alexa Chung cover and spread. I've never been a huge fan of her style, but after reading the article and seeing how down to earth she is (She has a bag named after her and is still self-deprecating). I also love the true Britishness of her style- mussed-up hair, kohl, simple pieces thrown together. which makes her reminiscent of Kate Moss. Anywho, are you guys loving Alexa?

I must admit that my heart sank just a little when I saw the skirt lengths for AW10.....the Midi! How will short people like myself cope? The skirt went against all my sensibilities- I like to get my legs out (btw was ecstatic when OTK boots were huge last winter) and seemed determined to make me look like Thumbelina's shorter sister. Anywho, I took the plunge and bought this one from Asos...and was pleasantly surprised. It went with more things in my wardrobe than I initially thought, it's quite flattering due to the nipped in waist and it looked like NOTHING I'd already owned- always a bonus! Here are my rules/guidelines to rocking your midi:
1) Unless you're over 5'7, don't even think about leaving the house without wearing heels
2) Define the waist- I was quite lucky that this skirt was naturally quite highwaisted, although I'm not sure if I can eat in this
3) Don't go for the obvious choices- yes I chose a blouse with this, but the skirt looked equally chic with a tank top or cropped sweater
4) Don't expect straight men to like it...at first. The hourglass shape will win them back onside!

I'm sooo excited today! My new Urban Decay Naked Palette arrived and I swear, I was instantly transported back to when I used to play with my mum's makeup. I'm really impressed with the quality and the value for money. This is also the first nude palette NOT to make me look dead or washed out and the glitter factor is to a minimum. Have you guys tried it yet?

Decided to do a slightly different kind of post today exploring my make-up obsessed side! I'm a true makeup junkie but weirdly don't wear that much from day to day; however I've got some go-to products that I keep returning to year after year:
From left to right:
1) Guerlain terracotta bronzer in Indian bronze: lovely shimmer(no glitter present and brilliant when applied to the apples of the cheeks)
2) Armani Fluid Sheer: perfect way to get a glow in seconds.A must have for night outs.
3)Clinique lash power mascara long wear formula: nothing takes this off! amazing for everyday4)Mac translucent powder: this is the first powder I've tried which doesn't look like stage makeup- gives a slightly glowing finish as well!
5)YSL Africa eye palette: what I'm wearing in the photo: great dense pigments
6)Nars blush in Orgasm: seriously suits everyone with a slight shimmer which isn't too much for everyday use!
I'm still learning how to apply makeup and would love to know what products you guys swear by! Thoughts?

Hiya! I had a fab time in London yesterday wandering around Notting Hill and checking out the little vintage shops. We had to stop at the Hummingbird Bakery for cupcakes (highly recommended!) and coffee before admiring gorgeous clothes in Selfridges. I missed the Grace Kelly exhibit :( , but had a great time anyways! Hope you guys are having a lovely weekend!

Ugh! have totally fallen off the radar this week- work's been mental and have been fighting off one of those inevitable colds you get in Fall (so far, the cold is winning). Ah well, am just happy it's Friday! Yay! Have a nice weekend planned with friends so will back to myself in no time! Have a good one guys!
